Zonta Club of Hampton Roads Announces
 9th Annual Women's Achievement Award Winners

Celebrating 25 years of local service, the Zonta Club of Hampton Roads, a member of Zonta International, is pleased to announce the winners of its 9th annual Women’s Achievement Awards. The award is given in recognition of the contribution these women have made to improve the status of women through leadership, advocacy, and service. Recipients were selected after a public nomination process.

The awards dinner and ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Old Dominion University Webb Center, Norfolk, VA.  Sandra Parker, WVEC-TV News Anchor, was the Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening.  The Honorable Meyera Oberndorf and Cecelia Tucker, both club members and past honorees, assisted with the awards presentations.  Special music was provided by the Bayside High School Advanced Orchestra led by Kathy Jasper, Director.

Zonta International is a global service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy.  There are nearly 31,000 members in over 1200 clubs in 66 countries.  Additional information can be found at www.zonta.org.
